Early Years Studies Foundation Degree
“I was working as an Ofsted-registered childminder when I decided to take the Foundation Degree, having previously studied an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education at ncn.
“I enjoyed coming together with like-minded students and gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience from social conversations with other learners as well as more formal classroom debates. The support from the course leaders was invaluable; I always received quick responses to emails asking for help and advice.
“Whilst on the course I experienced a taste for teaching and undertook a Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) course. I also changed my job role to become a National Childminding Association development and network coordinator. I’m currently studying a BA (Hons) in Education at Nottingham Trent University.
“I thoroughly enjoy my day job, but believe that higher level qualifications will make future career moves more achievable – the Foundation Degree has certainly opened up opportunities for me.”
