Each year ncn welcomes students to Nottingham from all around the world. These students make an important contribution to the academic and cultural life of the College.
Entry Requirements
ncn accepts a wide range of overseas qualifications, so please contact us for information and advice on qualification requirements.
English Language Requirements
Throughout your programme of study, all tuition, examinations and course materials will be in English. It is therefore important that you are able to speak, write and understand English to an appropriate level. You must have the following IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test score,
or an equivalent score, from a UK Border Agency approved English language test (for the full list please visit the UKBA website):
- For HNCs and Foundation Degrees – IELTS (academic) test score of 5.5 or above (no component less than 5.0) unless stated otherwise.
- For BA (Hons) Top-up Degrees – IELTS (academic) test score of 6.5 or above (no component less than 6.0). Some courses may accept 6.0 – contact the International Office for more information.
If you do not have any of these qualifications, you can study English at ncn in order to help you improve your level of English language before you begin your HE studies. However, you will still have to provide an IELTS certificate to confirm you meet the English level entry criteria for the course you are applying for.
University Foundation Course
ncn offers University Foundation courses specifically designed for international students who are aiming to progress to university-level programmes in the UK. More information can be obtained from the International Office.
English Language Support
English classes are provided as an integral part of your HE course. These classes are provided to support you in understanding your course, lectures, and essay and project writing.
Technical Tutorial
These tutorial sessions will help you to use and understand the technical language related to your specific course.
International Fees
International students will pay higher fees for courses. Please contact the International Office for further information.
European Students
ncn also welcomes applications from member countries of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA). Different fee eligibility rules apply to these students. Please contact us for information about fees.
