If you are moving to Nottingham to study, one of your key concerns will be where you are going to live. ncn is very happy to provide advice on accommodation to any student requiring it. Basically, there are three types of accommodation to choose from: private sector shared student houses, student halls and homestay accommodation.

Private rented housing

We work with Unipol Student Homes, a student housing charity which can provide you with online property vacancies, and advice and information about all aspects of living as a student in the private rented sector in Nottingham. They can also help you meet other students who are looking for accommodation and who would like to share.

  • Property vacancies for individual students and groups of students
  • Student-to-Student notice board
  • Advice and information on all aspects of renting in Nottingham, including a solicitor service
  • A house hunting guide

Unipol is also dedicated to improving property standards, which they do through the Unipol DASH code.

The Unipol service is free to students.

Student Halls

ncn does not have its own halls of residence. However, Nottingham has plenty of residential student accommodation run by private companies. You can get details of prices etc. and download an application form from their websites. The ones in the city centre are very popular and fill up quickly. When you are comparing prices, check the contract period i.e. the number of weeks in the year you must pay for (which will be more than the number of weeks you will be resident there).

Homestay

In homestay accommodation, you would live with a host in their Nottingham home. Whilst this type of accommodation is mainly suitable for international students, it is also a viable option for home students. Homestay currently costs £115 per week for full board and £75 per week for self-catering. If you want this type of accommodation, please complete and return a Homestay Accommodation Application Form.
