To get in touch with a Learning Adviser, you can ask at the reception of any campus, ask your tutor, or email als@ncn.ac.uk.

Learning Advisers are part of the Additional Learning Support team. They also work with the Advice and Guidance team and are based in the Student Support Services area at each main centre.

The Role of the Learning Adviser

The Learning Adviser team provides advice and guidance to students about the learning support services at ncn.Your campus Learning Adviser can help you to access the right support at any stage of your course.

Before starting the course – we can:

  • Assess your needs and advise you about support options
  • Organise college tours/visits
  • Support you at interview
  • Support you at enrolment

During the course – we can arrange:

  • Literacy, numeracy and/or language support
  • Specialist assessments eg. dyslexia
  • Specialist equipment and adapted materials
  • Personal assistance
  • Exam support eg. extra time, reader or scribe
